Opportunities to Serve

As a welcoming congregation, all members serve to help our visitors, guests, and members feel at home.

No need to sign up.  Just walk up to someone, extend a welcoming hand and share a kind word.

Enhances the worship experience through technology by ensuring appropriate volume of word and song and providing musical accompaniment.

Marks the beginning of the service by bringing Christ's light to the alter and assists worship leader with communion distribution.

Any confirmed man or woman, teens and older, may assist in the service by sharing the Old Testament and Epistle readings with the congregation.  The readings are emailed the previous Friday so readers can familiarize themselves with the selected scripture.

Prepares a setting appropriate for worship. Maintains order for worship.  Acts as a host for God.

Ensures the alter is prepared for service.  Maintains all the altar cloths and banners.

Floral donors provide alter flowers to enhance the worship service.  Gifts may be made to honor special occasions or in memory of loved ones.  Tall, clean 48 oz. cans are also needed for flower use on Sundays.  Floral donors also provide poinsettias for our special Christmas service.

Hosts serve light refreshments most Sundays after the service, before Bible Study.

Communicant members of at least 18 years of age can assist by counting the offerings from the service, recording contributions, and making deposits.

Redeemer's Society of Helping Hands is a support group of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Texas District and serves the Lord with gladness in many ways.

- Provides bereavement meals

- Contributes to Texas District Mites

- Supports Marhenke Bible Translation Ministry

- Donates care kits to Lutheran World Relief and collects stamps to provide funding for shipping

- Encourages members through Secret Prayer Pal program
